Workington Reds will have one new face in the squad for today’s NPL game at home to Hyde United.
Manager Billy Barr, preparing for his first game in charge of the Reds, has wasted no time in introducing new blood.
Barr hasn’t given his name or position but says he is an experienced player.
“I thought I might have two new signings but it’s good to get one over the line ahead of the Hyde game,” said Barr.
The new manager conducted his second training session on Thursday and was pleased with how it went.
“I tried not to overload them with things, just dropping in bits at a time.
“They know that I like my teams to show plenty of energy, so fitness is a key part of how I want them to play.
“It was good to have Lee Andrews in the session as he was unavailable through work on Tuesday.
“We are both looking forward to the game,” he said.
Hyde have a good record over the years at Borough Park and have won almost half the games they have played in West Cumbria – nine from 20 visits.
They currently sit 10th in the table, 12 points better off than the Reds from the same number of games.
The Tigers have also recently changed manager and have Martin Coyne and Harry Bunn steering the ship after the departure of Nick Spooner last month.
Both Reds victories this season have been away – at Bamber Bridge and Stocksbridge – so a first home win of the season would be a timely arrival boost for Reds new team boss.
