
Championship double winners Poole have announced the return of No.1 Richard Lawson for the 2026 season.
The west Cumbrian has enjoyed four trophy-laden years with the Pirates including three league titles, three KO Cup successes and two BSN Series trophies.
The 39-year-old, described by co-promoter Dan Ford as a phenomenon and a class act, is already up to 15th place in the club’s all-time scorers list.
He will begin the 2026 season on an average of 9.58 as he looks to herlp the Pirates to more silverware.
The son of Workington’s co promoter Steve Lawson he started his speedway career at Derwent Park in 2009 after a successful motocross career in which he was a junior British champion.
He stayed with the Comets until 2013 and since then has ridden extensively in speedway’s top two tiers.
