
National Trust events are taking place across the Lake District, from enchanting illuminations and houses decorated for Christmas to crafting and storytelling.
Winter at Sizergh will return for 2025, with new elements on the enchanting light trail.
The house will be decorated for Christmas, and visitors can take part in self-led festive crafts and enjoy delicious festive food in the café.
The shop will be open late, stocking locally sourced stocking fillers and thoughtful gifts.
Families can also pick up a trail card and spot the antlers hidden around the Knoll, then choose their favourite antlers for a festive photo opportunity.
Booking is essential, and tickets start from £4 for National Trust members.

On November 30 and December 7, Allan Bank will host local choir Grasmere Glee for an afternoon of Christmas carols in the hall, decorated for Christmas.
More musical fun at Allan Bank comes on December 14, when Harps North West will be playing pop-up performances in Wordsworth’s study.

Christmas at Townend presents an opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the season and step back in time to the Victorian era.
The fire will be roaring, the farmhouse decked with traditional festive foliage and food recreated from period recipes will be on display.
The house is open Fridays and Saturdays until December 20.
There is festive crafting to be enjoyed at Tabitha Twitchit’s bookshop as part of the Hawkshead Christmas Fair on December 6 and December 7.

For fresh air, guests can join a Winter Solstice Circle in the woodland above Wastwater on December 21, honouring the longest night and welcoming the rebirth of the sun.
