It’s a six-pointer at Borough Park tonight with the respective managers fronting their teams for just the third time.
Billy Barr with Workington has a win and draw so far while Guiseley’s Ian Roberts has overseen two draws.
The pitch passed an inspection early this afternoon after persistent rain during the morning.
Guiseley are three points better off in the table than the Reds but from a game extra.
Roberts had just left previous club Stocksbridge Park Steels when Reds went there and won 1-0 under caretakers Brian Dawson and Billy Redden.
Since then Barr has come in and Reds started with a first home win over Hyde before sharing the points in a 3-3 draw on Saturday at Rushall.
Guiseley under Roberts have drawn both games 1 1, at Whitby and at home to Cleethorpes on Saturday.
Barr will be without three players with Dav Symington completing his suspension but missing out through illness.
Jack Dickinson has an ear infection and Josh Galloway has a hamstring problem picked up at Rushall.
As for the visitors Leo Farrell is on loan until at least January but his hamstring issue will continue to be monitored by the club and parent club Barnsley.
Jake Lawlor opening the scoring for the Lions on Saturday but was replaced early on with a hamstring injury and he is likely to miss out.
Liam Ridehalgh will definitely be missing, with Richards confirming he is not yet 100% fit to return.
Guiseley are known as the Lions and they did the double over Workington last season, with a 2-0 victory at Nethermoor being followed up by another 2-0 success in Cumbria.
The hosts have only won one of the last 13 meetings between the sides, stretching back to 2005. That was a 2-1 success at Borough Park in April 2024. Guiseley have won 10 of those 13 meetings, with two games being drawn.
