Four West Cumbrians have been named in the Rugby League World Team of the Year for last season’s League One.
Workington Town, who finished as league runners-up have three men in the line-up while neighbours Whitehaven have one.
Full-back Zarrin Galea, stand-off Jake Carter and second-row forward Mason Lewthwaite are Town’s, trio with Whitehaven’s Ellison Holgate named at hooker.
Galea has also been named by the publication as the League One Player of the Year, an honour he shared with Rochdale’s scrum-half Lewis Else in the Rugby League’s seasonal awards last month.

Galea and Carter are also in a shortlist of five for the League One player of the year in the RL World’s sister publication League Express, decided by readers votes.
