A driver walked away from a serious crash in north Cumbria at the weekend.
Cumbria Roads Policing Unit said the incident happened on Saturday night near Wigton.
The unit said: “The driver of this vehicle was lucky to walk away.
“Officers are investigating but it is believed the car left the road at high speed before striking a tree some 10ft up the trunk, before finally coming to rest 40ft to 50ft down the road – with the engine ejected another 10ft or 20ft.
“The driver was checked over at the scene but escaped without serious injury.

“However, he failed a roadside drug wipe for cannabis.
“He was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and possession of cannabis.”
