Only three games were played in the Cumberland County League last week and none of them in the Premier Division.
The rough weather over the last few weeks have seen many games postponed, and the forecast for Saturday isn’t good either.
Unisun Athletic will be keen to get in their game at Keswick, intent on bouncing back from last week’s heavy 5-0 defeat to their main rivals Maryport Athletic.
Two weeks earlier Athletic had gone to Maryport in the Fred Conway County Cup and returned home to Carlisle with a 1-0 victory.
Last Saturday’s heavy home reversal was in the Benevolent Cup and they will be playing one of their games in hand of Athletic in the League at Keswick.
At just four points behind it’s a crucial game for them.
Keswick lie 6th of 10 in the Premier Division and will be without experienced midfielder Andy Frampton, who suffered a serious knee injury in their last game two weeks ago.
Maryport Athletic aren’t in League action on Saturday as they travel to Workington Juniors in a Conway Cup-tie at Lakes College.
It could be an interesting challenge for Maryport as the Juniors are on a good run of form which has carried them to third in the table.
Because of the Cup clash the Juniors’ Premier Division game at Cockermouth has been postponed.
Which leaves only Keswick v Unison and Whitehaven Miners Social v Cleator Moor Celtic reserves in the top flight.
Also in Saturday’s programme are two Benevolent Cup games – Mirehouse v Bransty Rangers; Unisun Development v Wigton Harriers.
