Flood warnings and alerts in force for Cumbria

Flood alerts and flood warnings remain in force for Cumbria.

Following persistent heavy rain over the weekend and on Monday, the Environment Agency said while river and lake levels were falling, further rainfall today and overnight on already wet ground will see levels rise this afternoon and tonight.

Flood warnings – which means flooding is expected – are in place for:

  • Dragley Beck at Ulverston from Dragley Beck Bridge on Well Lane downstream to South Ulverston
  • Keswick Campsite
  • River Crake Valley
  • River Ehen at Egremont, Bleach Green, Ennerdale Mill, Bridge End, Vale View, Wood Bank, Rugby Club

Flood alerts – meaning flooding is possible, be prepared – are in place for:

  • Lower River Eden
  • Lower River Lune & Conder
  • Middle River Eden
  • Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
  • Rivers Caldew and Petteril
  • Rivers Cocker, Marron and Derwent
  • Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck
  • Rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt & Esk
  • Rivers Kent & Bela
  • Rivers Lowther and Eamont
  • Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater
  • Upper River Eden

Flood alerts removed

  • Upper River Aire catchment
  • Upper River Ure
