Workington Comets have confirmed that GT Tyres has once again renewed their commitment as the club’s title sponsor for a further two years.

This continued partnership is a huge boost for the club as it builds on the strong foundations established over recent seasons.

GT Tyres has been loyal and passionate supporters of the Comets, and Workington Speedway said its backing played a vital role in helping deliver top-class speedway action for fans at the GT Tyres Arena, Northside.

Club promoter Andrew Bain said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have GT Tyres continuing as our title sponsor. Their ongoing support and enthusiasm for Workington Speedway mean so much to everyone involved with the club.

“Partnerships like this make it possible for us to grow both on and off the track, and we couldn’t ask for better people to have alongside us.

“GT Tyres have long been part of the Workington Speedway family, sharing our vision for success, community involvement, and the excitement that speedway brings to West Cumbria.

“Their continued sponsorship ensures we can keep pushing forward — both competitively and as a vital part of the local sporting community.”

Graeme Thompson, director of GT Tyres, added: “It’s a real honour to be able to support Workington Comets again in 2026.

“From my childhood dream of being a speedway rider — sitting outside Steve’s workshop watching him push the bikes up the steps — to now becoming title sponsor in the hope of helping make other dreams come true for the ever-increasing number of young fans who come to support the team and run around the track, it’s just brilliant to be part of.

“Good luck to Andrew, Sarah, Steve and the rest of the amazing crew who go above and beyond to keep the dream of speedway alive in Cumbria.

“A special thank you as well to all the supporters who continue to grow and also support us at GT Tyres — we couldn’t do it without you. Vanessa and I wish all the riders a safe and successful season.”
