Firefighters have tackled a house blaze in Penrith.
The town’s fire station said its crew was called to Pategill yesterday, Tuesday January 6, at around 10am.
It said: “On arrival crews found a well developed kitchen fire that was starting to rapidly spread to the rest of the house.”
Crews from Shap and Lazonby were called to help stop the spread of the fire.
Crews fought the fire, stopping it spreading to the rest of the house and risking spreading to neighbouring properties.

Penrith Fire Station added people may see an increased presence of fire service vehicles around the area over the next few days carrying out safe and well visits making sure everyone has working smoke alarms.
