Carlisle United have strengthened their National League squad with a signing and a loan extension.
The signing is left-sided defender Ryan Galvin who has been brought in from Barnet for an undisclosed fee.
The loan extension is for Chris Conn-Clarke fromPeterborough United until the end of the season.
Conn-Clarke, 24, arrived in Cumbria on loan in early October, with his initial deal due to expire at the end of January.
Galvin, 24, has penned a two-and-a-half-year contract at Brunton Park – with the club option of a further year – and becomes the Blues’ first addition of 2026.
Ryan began his career with Wigan Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday before making a permanent move to FC Halifax Town, following successful loan spells with Gloucester City and Maidstone United.
He gained valuable experience at National League level during a two-year spell with the Shaymen, which earned him a move to newly-promoted EFL side, Barnet.
In November 2025, Ryan joined promotion rivals Rochdale on an initial two-month loan deal, which was concluded to enable this move to be completed.
Since making the switch to Brunton Park, Conn-Clarke has made 11 appearances for United – three of those coming in the Emirates FA Cup, with the remainder in the Enterprise National League.
Head coach Mark Hughes said: “Since arriving, he’s shown exactly the quality and composure we knew he could bring to the group, both in training and on matchdays.
“He’s settled in well and has already made a positive impact, and we’re looking forward to continuing our work together over the coming months as he continues to contribute to the team.”
