A three-week consultation has opened into a masterplan for Carlisle’s future.
Cumberland Council wants to hear from people how they think the city should grow and improve.
Results of the consultation will help develop a Carlisle Masterplan to shape the future economic growth of the city and its continued regeneration and renewal.
The masterplan will identify key investment opportunities and explore options to improve connectivity across the city centre; with aim of linking up key sites and places.
The plan will also look at recreation and sport, health and wellbeing and will set out a wide programme of deliverable activities that will support the activation and attractiveness, vitality and use of the city centre.
Leader of Cumberland Council Mark Fryer, said: “We have set out a commitment to ensure that Cumberland is an attractive, vibrant and prosperous place and that it meets the needs of existing and prospective residents, visitors and businesses.
“As part of this, we are developing an Economic and Inclusive Growth Strategy and area specific masterplans that will set out a framework to support the economic regeneration of places across Cumberland.
“It is important that our residents and businesses are given the opportunity to have their say and to let us know what is important to them and give suggestions on how we can make improvements.”
The online consultation ends on Wednesday February 11.
