Two fire crews have tackled a building blaze.
Crews from Shap Fire Station and Penrith Fire Station were called out yesterday, January 24, to the incident.
Shap Fire Station said: “A large fire was clearly visible on route and an early make up for additional resources was made due to local knowledge and potential difficulties getting water to the scene.
“This was then scaled up further due to 999 footage received by fire control.
“On arrival crews were met by a fire contained to the building involving timber and the building walls itself made of railway sleepers.
“A strong wind as well as fuelling the fire also assisted in blowing the fire away from a stack of straw contained within the building.
“A good early knock and water from a near by stream was enough to allow the crews to scale back resources and deal with the fire swiftly.”
