
In Division One of the John Peel Darts League Aspatria Bowling Club moved just one victory away from winning the title.
They scored an emphatic 14-0 victory over Sun Inn A, who despite a valiant effort, failed to get anything out of the match.
Tim Workman, Alison Edgar, David Graham, Mike Sowerby, Stewart Reynolds and Eddie Carrick were all in no mood to drop points and Carrick had one throw of 180.
Silloth Bowling Club kept up their challenge with an 8-6 victory over Letters Inn B after Neil Hillier had put the Aspatria side one up.
Then Cam Pape and Jack Robinson made it 2-1 to Silloth before the topsy turvy game went 4-2 to the Letters with wins by Bob Graham, Wayne Iredale and Liam Norris.
When Hillier and Owen Pattinson made it 6-2 it looked like the Letters were in line for the win but Silloth responded and showed why they sit second by taking all the remaining points to win 8-6.
Jack Robinson and Dan Redman won the second double and father and son Trevor and Ronnie Frith took the third. Roger Barwise, Pape and Robinson won the first treble before Redman, and the Friths completed the turnaround to keep Silloth in with a feint chance of catching Aspatria BC.
Tam O’Shanter took on bottom side Sun Inn C and made it four wins on the spin with an 11-3 victory. John Duncan, Norman Tolson, Geoff Ramshaw and Colin Armstrong put them 4-0 up before Shaun Allan and Lewis Fisher pulled two back.
The Sun had to wait until the last treble to get their third point through Gary Miller, Allan and Fisher as Duncan and Tolson, Ramshaw and Armstrong and Richard Henderson and Nev Jack took all the doubles and first treble to run out 11-3 winners. It keeps them in pursuit of the runners-up spot.
Blackamoor took on Wigton Bowling Club and it was the Bowlers who took a 4-0 lead as Scott Stirzaker 100 off, Alan Wilson 105 off, Duggie James 105 off and George Moore set the tone for the evening,
Ash Brough 112 off defeated Janice Wilson and Luke Hetherington beat Graham Metcalfe to make it 4-2 after the singles.
Bowling club then won all the doubles to secure the victory and the trebles were shared for a final score of 11-3 to the Wigton Bowling Club.
The Red Dial Arrows hosted Grey Goat A and Jamie Glencross got them away with a win, defeating Goat’s Steven Ostle. Kieron Little went off with a 108 but Jonny Bowe still came through to win and make it 1-1.

Dan Stobart 120 off then put the Goat in front beating Matt Glencross, but Rob Hunter and Adam Gill took the next two points to put the Arrows back in front.
Mark Pearson beat Wayne Southward to level at 3-3 before Jamie Glencross Little took the first double.
Dan Stobart 100 off and Tom Stobart again levelled the match at 5-5 with the final double going to the home side as Gill and Southward made it 7-5.
Goat weren’t finished though and made it 7-6 via Ostle, Bowe and Dan Stobart. It meant a last leg decider and the Red Dial pulled it off with Hunter, Gill and Southward securing the Arrows 5th win in a row.
No score sheet was provided in the other Division One match where the Jovial Sailor beat Wigton Park 9-5.
In Division Two there was a tightening at the top as Crown Inn travelled to Caldbeck to take on the Oddfellows and the pressure of leading the table appeared to weigh heavy as they drew 7-7.
Zak Ostle and Alan Potts got the Oddies off to a great start taking a 2-0 lead before George Mitchinson pulled one back.
R Ostle and Shane Ostle made it 4-1 but the in-form Jake Armstrong made it 4-2.
Then Adam Walton an Jamie Fleming were beaten by Z Ostle and Potts in the first double to put Oddies 6-2 in front and it was the same two alongside Martyn Bell who got the first treble to secure the draw.
It was one way traffic at Grey Goat B as they hosted Sun Inn B looking to keep the pressure on and they did that and more, winning 13-1 to move joint top and lead on Legs Won by two.
Will Jackson scored the Goats only point as he beat Tony Dunn. David Shield, Mark Harris 90 off, Jimmy Dunn, Captain Ryan Fisher 112 off and Kenneth Bowes gave the Aspatria side a 5-1 lead and they carried on with a clean sweep of the doubles and trebles to run out comfortable winners.
Bridge End B continued to push for the top and are three points behind in third with four games to go as they beat the Red Dial Sparrows.
It was an even game right through as Sparrows took the lead with Gary Armstrong and Gordon Robinson making it 2-0 before Jack Paton, Jordan Docherty and Les Davidson made it 3-2 to the Bridge.
Mark Thompson levelled the match at 3-3 before Lawrence Armstrong and Alan Dinning took the first double. Les and Bob Foster won the last to put Bridge on seven with Malcolm Bell and Xenon Charters taking the middle double for the Sparrows as they headed into the trebles at 7-5.

Sparrows got the first via Armstrong, Robinson and Bell to set up an anxious climax with the Bridge End B taking it through Docherty, Davidson and Foster to win 8-6.
Rosley faced Letters A and were comfortable winners 11-3 on the night despite Neil Falcons 100 off in the first leg it was opponent Robert Wharton who produced the finish.
George Cross, Del Dalton and J Henderson made it 4-0 before Marcus Hamilton and Rod Steele pulled two back.
Robert Wharton and Cross, Dalton and Henderson and Mark Wharton and Barry Little took all three doubles while the trebles were shared with Robin Housby joining Hamilton and Steele for a consolation point in the last.
A thrilling match at the Hare and Hounds saw them take a 6-0 lead against Bolton Lions, winning all the singles via George Studholme, Craig Henderson, Kirsty Graham, Roland Howe, Liam McCracken and Gaz Carr before they then lost all the doubles and first treble to trail 7-6 as Malc Hudson, Roy Day, John Smallwood, Robert Cockburn, Christine Johnston & Dot Cockburn all turned on the style.
Howe, McCracken and Carr took the last though to secure a point in a 7-7 draw.
Wheatsheaf and Joiners also drew 7-7. Linden Wilson, Dan Dobson, Joe Graham and Flynn Charters had singles wins for Joiners while Craig Taylor and Josh Williamson took theirs to make it 4-2 going into the doubles.
Harvey and Steven Harrison took the first for 4-4, while Dan Dobson and Neil Wilson put joiners 6-4 ahead of Wheatsheaf taking the last double through Josh Williamson and Dan Potts so again we were all square heading into the trebles where one each ensured a point for both teams. Joiners’ Linden Wilson also got off in singles and doubles with 102.
Wellington took a 4-2 lead at home to Southend Social Club with Dan Knox, Phil Armstrong, Paul Scragg and Carl Knox winning while for Southend it was Laura Tweeddale and Laurie Halliman.
Southend then won the game with some blistering doubles from Flop Dorwood and Brian McGarvie, Brian Tweeddale and Laura Tweeddale and Halliman and Julie McGarvie.
Knox, Armstrong and Scragg took the first treble before L Tweeddale, Halliman and McGarvie ended the scoring in a 9-5 with for the Southend Club.
