Unisun Athletic went two points clear at the top of the Cumberland County League after their 7-2 win over Cockermouth.

They leap-frogged champions Maryport Athletic and still have a game in hand of their nearest rivals.

In the only Premier Division game on the day the Carlisle side built on a 3-0 half-time lead and won comfortably against a side they meet later in the Conway Cup final.

Mikey Williamson (2), Ryan Scott (2), Ellis Dickinson, Ollie Reay and Shane Dorward scored the goals with Jack Graham and Luke Graham replying for Cockermouth.

The only other game played also involved Unisun Athletic with their Development side in Division One and they put up a good show to draw 2-2 at title-chasing Northbank.

They were grateful for an own goal and a Liam Graham strike after the sides had turn ed round at 1-1.
