The 2026 President’s Cup final in the West Cumberland Sunday League will be a clash of champions.
Current winners of the Premier Division Northside will face Deer Orchard who won the league title last season.
Orchard had already booked their place in the final with a 5-1 win against Senhouse Street Club last month, but Northside had to go to penalties to get through their semi-final.
Against Moresby Rangers it had finished 1-1 with Sam Stones levelling for the Copeland side after Tommy Whitehead’s goal had given Northside the edge at half-time.
In the penalty shoot-out Northside came out on top by 4-2.
Zebras had a 5-0 win over Workington Falcons in the League Cup with goals from Malaki Norford (2), Dan Little, Mike Herbert and Alistair Shaw-Hughes.
Also in the League Cup Lowca Pirates beat The Sun 4-1 as Owen Woodburn, Travis Fyfe, Kevin Holliday and Callum McWilson found the target. Dan Wilkins replied for The Sun.
There were two games in Division One with Senhouse Street taking another step on the way to the title by beating King’s Arms 5-2.
It was a significant win, too, as the Egremont side are nearest to them in the table but now eight points behind from three more games.
Grant Quayle, Greg Quayle, Brian Straughton, Ant Zajac and Jack Reid scored the Senhouse goals with Kieran Fraser and Dylan Elsworth.
Realistically the only serious challenge now can come from Mirehouse Juniors but they trail by nine points from the same number of games as they also slipped up on Sunday.
They were beaten 4-2 at The Swan, shipping the damage in the first-half as they trailed 4-1 at the break.
Ewan Laverty, Iestyn Hughes, Cieran Hewitson and an own goal made-up the Swan tally with Kian Sim and Jordan Priestley replying for Mirehouse.
