Having recently celebrated their third anniversary, Whitehaven Marras and Arras hosted event two of the Speed Competition West Cumbria Super Series at Moor Row Club on Saturday.
In it’s second year of running there have been a few changes from the original format.
Notably every event is now ‘money in – money out’ on the day, taking pressure of players to play every event and making the series more accessible to people who are only available for a few of the dates.
Winning an event will now guarantee a space in finals night, due to take place on November 21 at St Begh’s Social Centre, with the remaining places being filled from the highest ranked players on the order of merit once the winners are removed.
Jack Pollard was the first player to guarantee his place as he won event one in January.
Event two was a sold out show with 48 players competing in eight groups of six.
The top two in each group progressed to the last 16 with the remaining players having the option to enter a plate knockout.
Quarter finals
- Mackenzie Webster 4:1 Rob Atkinson
- Colin Hargrave 4:0 Ray Dockeray
- Craig Devine 4:2 Jimmy Clucas
- Nick Twinn 4:2 Wayne Crayston
Semi finals
- Colin Hargrave 4:2 Mackenzie Webster
- Craig Devine 4:2 Nick Twinn
A strongly contested final saw Colin secure his place in finals night with a 4:1 win against Craig.
It was a cracking performance from Colin who dropped just four legs all day.

The plate competition was won by Ian Elsworth, beating Darren Bellard 2:0 in the final.
Event three will take place on March21 at St Begh’s Social Centre and players can register now on the following link: https://www.dartsatlas.com/tournaments/4eWD1jU6MdcI
