Whitehaven have now officially advertised for a head coach to replace the departing Anthony Murray.
In an official statement on their Social media account, the Whitehaven club said: “We are open to applications from all coaching backgrounds but we would like all applicants to keep in mind where we are as a club at the moment – one-and-a-half years into a three-year rebuild with a predominantly local squad.
“This is an exciting opportunity for any coach to be at the centre of change at Whitehaven RLFC.
“We would ask all applications to be submitted by 10am Friday March 6 with a view to interview on Monday March 9 and hopefully appoint on, or before, Friday March 13 if the right candidate is available.”
Whitehaven are at home on Sunday again to Midlands Hurricanes when it looks as though Murray’s back-up coaches Neil Frazer and James Newton will be in charge of the team.
There are no fixtures for the following Sunday because of the Challenge Cup.
