Eight disorientated Lake District walkers were escorted off Blencathra by mountain rescue team volunteers.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team has just released details of the call out, which took place on March 1 at around 4.05pm.
It was initially believed that the group were stranded on Sharp Edge.
The team said: “Initial efforts to pinpoint their location were hampered by communication difficulties; however, early reports suggested they had reached the plateau but were disoriented and unable to locate the descent.
“After the group successfully responded to a PhoneFind request, their actual location was confirmed as the main summit ridge of Blencathra, rather than Sharp Edge itself.”
The group was instructed to head south west along the crag top towards Blease Fell. Team members met them there and escorted them safely down the mountain.
