Barrow have parted company with another manager as Dino Maarmia left the club yesterday.
They have now had three managers since the start of the season but have decided not to advertise again.
Instead a brief club statement said that Sam Foley, supported by Simon Ireland and David Worrall, would be taking the team until the end of the season.
The statement added: “We recognise that this has been a very disappointing season with far too much managerial change.
“As the board of directors, we understand that the buck stops with us.
“We believe this change gives us the best chance of remaining in the football league.”
The club had a question and answer session planned for Friday and have confirmed that this will go ahead in the Cross Bar.
The Bluebirds began the campaign with Andy Whing in charge, but he was axed on December 12 and Paul Gallagher was announced as his successor on January 2.
But he only lasted five games until February 11 when former Burton Albion boss Maamria was unveiled as manager number three for the season.
The new man won his first game 1-0 against Colchester but since then they have gone on a five-game winless run, which included one draw (2-2 at Cheltenham last Friday) and four defeats.
Tuesday’s 2-0 home defeat to Bristol Rovers was his last and his six match reign was only one more than the previous occupant of Barrow’s very hot seat.
With 11 games to go Barrow are only outside the relegation zone by virtue of a better goal difference than Newport, with Harrogate a point behind bottom of the table.
Barrow are at home on Saturday to Accrington Stanley.
