Two months of roadworks planned for A66

Two months of roadworks are planned for a section of the A66 in West Cumbria.

National Highways said it was carrying out repairs on the road between Great Broughton and the Fitz roundabout.

Workers will be resurfacing the road, replacing road markings and repairing drainage.

Teams will work overnight to minimise disruption from 8pm to 6am and work is due to start on Monday, March 16 and be completed by May 15.

Lane closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place and convoy working will also operate.

Diversions

Tuesday April 7 to Friday April 10 (three nights) – Great Broughton junction
  • A66 to Fitz roundabout
  • A595 Papcastle roundabout
  • A594
  • C2037 to Broughton Moor
  • C2007
Friday April 10 to Wednesday April 15 (three weekday nights) – Brigham junction
  • A66 trunk road
  • C2007
  • to C2065 School Brow

Traffic management will be lifted over Easter and reinstated from Tuesday April 7.
