Avanti West Coast will run trains from Glasgow Central tomorrow, Wednesday March 18, as the high-level station partially reopens following a major fire in the city.
The station closed to all trains following a major fire at a nearby building on Sunday, March 8.
Low-level services resumed last week but services, including cross-border routes, were still not operating as a result. It affects Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express services which travel through Carlisle.
Avanti has now announced that it will operate one train per hour between London Euston and Glasgow Central from tomorrow, Wednesday March 18, due to the reduced number of platforms available.
Avanti West Coast will also operate one train per hour between London Euston and Motherwell/Edinburgh where onward connections to Glasgow Central low-level are available with ScotRail.
To enable Network Rail to carry out significant work ahead of fully reopening, an exclusion zone will be in place.
As a result, Avanti West Coast’s Ticket Office and First Class Lounge will remain closed.
Access to the station will be available via the low-level entrance and the Hope Street drive carriage driveway.
Customers making journeys to or from Glasgow Central are advised to allow extra time and check the Avanti West Coast website before they travel.
According to National Rail, TransPennine Express is still not running any services to or from Glasgow Central.
National Rail added that disruption was expected until the end of the day on Thursday, March 19.
