Only three games were played at the weekend in the West Cumberland Sunday League – all in the group stages of the league cup.

One of the games proved to be a mismatch, one of those contests that does neither team any good.

Moresby Rangers won 18-0 at King’s Arms with goals from Lucas Craigie (4), Rhys Singleton (3), James Bell (2), Jake Martin (2), Jamie Martin (2), Brett Smith (2), Owen O’Neill and Tor Pattinson. They didn’t need the help of an own goal as well.

The other two games were fairly comfortable victories but less sided than that one.

Sun Inn Athletic won 6-0 at Zebras with goals from Brad Williamson (2), Jackson Slack (2), Luke Curwen and Liam Stanford.

Thornhill were 5-1 winners against Mirehouse with goals from Nathan Dryden (2), Ben Mahaffy, Harry Hodgson and Harrison Rodgers. Ryan Smith replied for Mirehouse.

There’s a final on Thursday night at the Falcon Complex in Egremont when The Sun take on Moresby Rangers in the Kenny Hailes Memorial Trophy (kick-off 6.30pm).
