A trio of walkers in the Eskdale Valley called for help from mountain rescue after they got lost.
The three men contacted emergency services on Wednesday, April 1, at around 10.45pm via the text SOS service, saying they were cold, wet and lost.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were alerted.
The team said: “The team leader made contact with the SOS service, but the group had already moved from their initial location and the team leader was unable to make direct contact.
“The final update – around 30 minutes later – indicated they were nearly back down, no longer required mountain rescue team assistance, and sadly stated they were ‘never hill walking again’.”
