People trying to wild camp during Storm Dave had to call to be rescued after they became stranded.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said they were called out on Saturday, while Storm Dave was reaching its peak, to two teens camping near Sprinkling Tarn.
The team said: “Despite the well-forecasted storm, the pair found themselves in a serious situation when their tent was blown down and destroyed by the high winds, leaving them cold, wet, and stranded.”
The initial call was via a satellite relay service, but due to communication difficulties, the team was unable to contact the relay centre or the teens directly.
The team added: “Two vehicles were deployed, but the team faced an immediate hurdle as the Borrowdale road was blocked by fallen trees.
“Forced to divert via Portinscale, the team split into two groups – one heading up Grains Gill and the other via the Sty Head path.”
The teens were eventually found sheltering in the Sty Head stretcher box, cold but otherwise okay.

While in the area, the team also came across a solo wild camper who was struggling in the conditions.
All three were walked down to Seathwaite and reunited with their vehicles.
The team added: “Incidents like this highlight why it is so important to check the weather before heading out.
“Wild camping in a named storm carries extreme risks, not just for the campers, but for the volunteers who have to navigate blocked roads and dangerous winds to reach them.”
