In Maryport’s pool league, Elbra C took on Elbra B in an in-house derby which proved rather one-sided in the end.

The B team took a 2-0 lead as Roger Rivers and Graham Mattinson gave them a solid start but Jonathan Webster pulled one back for the C team.

Ian Frizzle made it 3-1 and Elbra B then took all three doubles to wrap up a 6-1 victory and move into second place six points behind the Sharks.

The league leaders travelled to Butchers A where Kevin Gartland put the home side ahead by taking the first frame.

Haydan Mostyn then made it 1-1 and Jobby Dunn put the Sharks ahead by winning the third frame.

Lee Volkaerts tied the game at 2-2 before Lee Ferguson and Volkaerts put Butchers back in front at 3-2.

Then in a big finish Dunn and Luke Kershaw again levelled the match and in the last frame it was Mostyn and Kershaw who took the honours for Sun Inn Sharks to win 4-3.

Maryport Rugby B took the first 6 points at home to Butchers B before the visitors won the last double to end the match with a consolation in a 6-1 defeat.

The Rugby Boys saw Kyle Graham, Tyler Beales, Kieran Scott and Luke McKnight all with singles wins in an impressive performance.

Sun Inn Ballers played host to Maryport Bowling Club and it was the visitors who showed first as David Edwards, Anthony Brough and Paul Kirkbride gave them three singles while Willy Armstrong kept the Ballers in with a chance, making it 3-1.

The Ballers then won all three doubles to claim a 4-3 victory with Gary Miller an Greg Todd winning a decider.

Grant Murdy was the only point winner for Glasson as they took on The Swan as Mark Mattocks, Gareth Pattinson and Matty Little made it 3-1 before they took all three doubles for a 6-1 victory.

Sun Inn Cannons v Sun Inn Dearham went down to the last frame decider after Jack Basnett had put Dearham in front.

Zane Alderson equalised and then Blake Miller won for Dearham before Jordan Falcon made it 2-2.

Miller and Callum Casson again put Dearham in front 3-2 before Lewis Fisher and Matty McCartney made it all square.

Adam Short and Casson clinched the final frame to give the Dearham side a 4-3 win.

Maryport Social beat Grasslot Welfare 5-2 after Ryan Ismay won his singles and two doubles in an impressive display of pool. Stephen Ismay was the other singles winner.

Elbra A took a 3-1 lead against Maryport Rugby A through Pat Walton, Tony Lambert and Aaron Rowley with Dale Dickinson pulling one back for Maryport.

The Rugby Club then got it back to 3-3 by taking the first two doubles before John McCracken and Walton won the final frame to clinch victory for Elbra A 4-3.
