A three-day festival celebrating nature will be held in Cumbria next month.
Cumbria Nature Festival will be held at Rivendell, in Stainburn, near Workington from May 8 to May 10.
Local experts and groups will be on hand to talk about different aspects of the natural world.
Keynote sessions include species reintroduction expert and author Derek Gow, multi-award winning filmmaker and photographer Terry Abraham and director general of the Wildwood Trust, Paul Whitfield.
There will also be an opportunity to explore the universe with local astronomer Stuart Atkinson.
Sam Griffin, of the Cumbria Nature Festival committee, said: “Nature exists everywhere; from our urban parks and gardens to our farmland and fells.
“But in the modern world we are increasingly disconnected from nature by a lack of knowledge and understanding of wild species and processes.
“We hope to ignite a spark and enthuse everyone to get outside and into nature. Only by sharing our passion for nature can we hope to inspire a collective desire to protect what we are so lucky to still have in Cumbria.”
