Denton Holme booked their place in the Sunday County Cup final with a 4-2 home win over Lowca Pirates.

The second semi-final between Northside and Morton West is to be played this Sunday.

Match star for Denton Holme was Oliver Reay who helped himself to a hat-trick with the other goal coming from Ellis Dickinson.

The Pirates had gone 3-0 down before Kian Goulding pulled one-back and after Denton Holme scored their fourth it was Goulding again who notched Lowca’s second.

Lowca got back to winning ways on Tuesday night in the West Cumberland Sunday League when they beat Deer Orchard 2-1 at Wakefield Road.

Goals from Harley Cueto and Aaron Wynd saw them take this League Cup group game with Nick Wood replying for Orchard.

In another group Division One champions Senhouse Street were awarded a walk-over by scheduled visitors King’s Arms.

Mirehouse Juniors are in a battle to finish runners-up to Senhouse Street in Division One and two second-half goals earned them a 4-2 win at Workington Falcons after the two sides had shared four goals in the first 45 minutes.

Lachlan Leeson (2), Jordan Priestley and Cyran Corlett scored their goals with Declan Moore and Liam Holder on the mark for the Falcons.

With one game left Mirehouse have 37 points while their challengers Sun Inn still have three to play and are on 32 points – so a tight finish in prospect.
