
Maryport Rescue were called to help police with an incident at the town’s disused quarry.
Cumbria police requested help from the volunteer independent lifeboat crew yesterday, Monday April 20 at around 7.20pm as there was a person needing medical attention in a difficult to access location.
Maryport Rescue said: “Team members deployed promptly arriving on scene alongside Cumbria police at the site located east of the path within the old quarry area.
“Following assessment the casualty was carefully extricated and transferred into the care of North West Ambulance Service at the Promenade car park.
“We extend our thanks to all agencies for their professionalism during the incident.”
