
Kendal Town have applied to be moved back to the North West Counties Football League.
The club has spent two seasons in the Northern League.
They were unwilling lateral movers then and did appeal the decision but it failed.
Their two campaigns in the North East have seen them narrowly fail to make the play-offs.
A home defeat in Saturday’s final game of the season saw them finish seventh, one place lower than last season in pursuit of a top five slot.
But the request to move back to the North West Counties has more to do with costs than any failure to reach play-offs.
Expenditure has risen by £17,000 this season, largely through travel and with the current situation with fuel costs over the Iran war, things look bleak.
