Two members of the Workington Town squad have moved on, with one going on loan and the other bringing in a small undisclosed fee.
Delaine Gittens-Bedward had joined Town after playing for Barrow Raiders last season and has been involved in most of the Championship games so far.
The London-born 24-year-old has now been allowed to move on in a permanent switch to Halifax Panthers and is expected to be in their squad this weekend’s trip to Widnes.
Halifax started the season late after financial problems threatened to sink them like Featherstone but they were revived and although docked points are now up and running and proving competitive.
Tobias Gibson, a former Leeds and Newcastle Thunder forward, has not featured a lot so far this season and has been allowed to make a loan move to Keighley Cougars which is nearer his Yorkshire home.
This will operate until the end of the season, however Town have retained a recall option on the 21-year-old.
Town had been well stocked with forwards although recent injuries have limited coach Jonty Gorley’s options.
A Town spokesman said: “With positive diagnosis on the estimated returns of Stevie Scholey and Ross Ainley alongside the return to fitness of three other forwards we have decided to approve both deals.
“We wish both players well at their respective new clubs and thank them both for their efforts in the Workington Town jersey.”
Town are back in action on Sunday against Oldham in a game at Stalybridge Celtic’s Bower Fold.
