Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Youth Teams Festival U9 & U10s

A Cumbrian housebuilder has backed a youth rugby festival.

Genesis Homes is supporting Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club’s Youth Festival and contributed towards commemorative hoodies for the under-12s side taking part in the club’s rugby tour.

It meant the club could present medals to every participant and award a Player of the Tournament prize for each age group.

Young teams from Wensleydale, Huddersfield, Lymm, Creighton and Penrith all took part.

Phil Stephenson, chair of mini and youth rugby and a member of the club’s committee, said: “Both events were a huge success. The support means a lot to us and allows these events to be put on.”

Lauren Allison, head of communities & engagement at Genesis Homes, added: “Supporting local clubs like Kirkby Lonsdale is at the heart of what we do. These events give young people the chance to grow, connect and make memories, and we’re proud to play a part in helping that happen.”
