
Workington Reds have appointed a new board member in Ken Tunstall, Workington born and bred who has lived in Lincolnshire for 45 years.
Brought up in Moss Bay, he worked for the TSB in Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport, before moving away to pursue a career in banking, finance and business.
Although not living locally, he has maintained strong roots in the area and as a keen sports fan has always kept a close eye on the fortunes of Workington AFC.
He followed the club from the 1960s and also, while employed at the bank, worked on the turnstiles at Workington home games.
He was a keen sportsman – football, tennis and squash particularly – and was a former team-mate of Reds chairman Phil Norman at Cumbria Teachers.
His recent retirement provides an opportunity to use his experience and skills to help the club by working remotely.
