Cumbria have to make several changes again for their third Bill Beaumont County Championship game at Chester against Cheshire.
Injuries and unavailabilities mean that Peter Weightman, Ant Davies, Flynn Manihera, Alistair Thompson, Richard Addison, Finn Kennedy and Jack Tunnicliffe are missing from last week’s selection.
But despite the number of changes that will have to be made, there are only two players likely to make their debuts – Johnny Swallow (Kendal) and Jack Shannon (Hawcoat Park).
Cumbria had a fine 52-26 win to start the campaign against Durham but last week lost 48-14 against Northumberland.
Cheshire were 51-28 winners at Durham, so a pretty similar score to Cumbria, and then lost 33-15 to Northumberland which was better than Cumbria did.
So it’s going to be a virtual shoot-out for second place behind Northumberland with Cumbria looking to re-capture the form they showed in the opening game.
