Whitehaven have only one loanee in their line-up for Sunday’s home game with Keighley Cougars.

Seth Woodend, from Barrow has been a regular in the Haven squad since he first linked up with the Ortus Rec side at the end of February.

But recent short-term additions from Super League clubs, including St Helens, are not included for the visit of the Cougars.

Rio McQuistan, back from Millom, has also not been named in the 21-strong squad selected by coach James Newton for this one.

Newton said: “We have had two good sessions this week and actually I thought Thursday was the best we’ve had since I took over.

“I hope we can carry that into the game on Sunday.

“We have had lads coming back into the squad after recovering from knocks so we will have no loans with us this week.”

Whitehaven: Bickerdike, Brennan, Blinkhorn, Brown, Burns, Callander, Eccleston, Holgate, Holliday, Kellett, Newbegin, Nixon, B Pearce, J Pearce, Shackley, Smith, Todd, Walker, Weatherill, Williamson, Woodend.

Keighley have named 20 in the squad to travel, including former Whitehaven player Lachlan Lanskey.

The squad is: Waine, Brown, Dean, Burton, Lanskey, Proud, Sayner, Parker, Green, Rushworth, Flanagan, Farrell, Schofield, Teanby, Pickersgill, Evans, Holroyd, Clarke, Groves, Matahwa.
