Emergency services responded to an incident in Carlisle.

The entrance and exit eastbound onto West Tower Street from Castle Way was blocked.

The slip roads were closed.

Police received a call at around 2.15pm regarding concern for the safety of someone on the bridge over Castle Way, on the wrong side of the railings.

Cumbria police said the incident had been safely resolved.

The road is now open.
