Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw are inviting the community to come together for their Glow Trail, a new fundraising event supported by Lowther Castle & Gardens.
Taking place on Saturday September 12, the event will give participants the chance to fundraise and enjoy a magical, family-friendly evening where supporters can follow an illuminated route, with glow stations and entertainment along the way.
Lowther Castle & Gardens, near Penrith, donated the use of its gardens to give the event a magical backdrop for the evening.
The purpose is to bring the community together to raise much-needed funds to help the hospice continue providing specialist care and support to local adults, children and families.
Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw rely on the support of the local community to fund 80% of their running costs, with just 20% supported by NHS funding.
Every fundraiser, donation and act of kindness helps make compassionate, dignified care possible for people with life-limiting conditions and those closest to them.
By taking part in Glow Trail, supporters will be funding care and compassion for families at some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Glow Trail will begin from 6pm, with the walk starting at 8pm.

Participants will complete two gentle laps of the trail at sunset, passing illuminated glow features, live entertainment and dedicated remembrance points designed to help people reflect, remember and celebrate loved ones.
The event is suitable for all ages, with under-12s able to take part for free, and offers an accessible opportunity for families, friends, colleagues and community groups to support their local hospice together.
As well as enjoying a memorable evening in a unique setting, those who sign up will receive a fundraising pack including event guidance and a remembrance ribbon to dedicate to a loved one.

Remembrance opportunities and T-shirts will also be available, with the space to personalise a message for those walking in memory of loved ones.
Participants will also have access to fundraising support before and on the day, including a link to the hospice’s online fundraising page, sponsor forms and practical fundraising guidance.
While the entry fee helps cover the cost of running the event, the hospice is encouraging everyone who takes part to raise as much as they can.
The target fundraising amount is £50, which would provide compassionate, specialist care and support to local families when they need it most.

Megan Dart, events fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice, said: “Glow Trail is a very special opportunity for people to come together for an evening that is uplifting, memorable and full of meaning.
“Whether someone takes part to remember a loved one, support their local hospice or simply enjoy a magical experience with family and friends, every step they take and every pound they raise will help us continue providing compassionate care to local families when they need it most.

“We would love to see the community get behind this brand-new event and help us light the way for hospice care.”
A Lowther Castle & Gardens spokesman said: “2026 marks the year when the castle returns to the world of staging events and we are delighted that one of our first will be the Eden Valley Hospice/Jigsaw Glow Trail.

“We are keen to show our support for important local charities and look forward to a moving and uplifting occasion where the past and present combine to do something good for the future.”
Entry for Glow Trail is £20 per person, with under-12s free.
