Workington Reds manager Billy Barr has expressed his delight at re-signing Isaac Whitehall for the 2026/27 season.
Barr told Cumbria Crack: “I’m really pleased that Isaac has re-signed. When I knew I was coming to Workington myself Isaac was the first person that I made contact with,
“Having initially signed him for Blackburn as an Under-13 I was lucky enough to see his development over the next years before I left.
“Unfortunately he endured a nightmare few years with injury and was forced to retire.
“He brought quality and calmness to our situation last year and was a massive part of us surviving with one game to go.
“Going forward Isaac will be a massive part of our football club.”
Whitehall took a job outside the game when his career ended and that interfered at time with his availability for the Reds.
It’s something he is working on at the moment but even if there is no change in his circumstances he is an important signing for the club.
Barr confirmed he has been making offers to players and is waiting for them to get back to him with decisions.
