A former West Cumbrian pub will be converted into a 21-room house of multiple occupancy.
Plans to convert The Commercial, on High Street, in Cleator Moor, have been approved by Cumberland Council.
Cleator Moor Developments Ltd asked the authority for a change of use for the venue, which was closed from 2006.
It reopened in 2015 for a short time before closing again and has remained vacant since.
The property will feature a bicycle storage area, indoor amenity room and a roof terrace.
Each bedroom will be en suite.
The plans have been approved subject to conditions, including that work must start within three years of permission being granted.
Materials used on the outside of the building and any replacement windows and doors must also be approved by the planning authority, to make sure the character of the building is retained.
Cleator Moor Developments Ltd was given permission to transform the pub into nine flats in 2024.
