Train changes as overnight engineering work set to start

Overnight engineering work between Barrow and Carnforth this week will result in an amended timetable.

Some lines will be closed and Northern said some lines will be closed.

From today until Thursday, the 20:44 service from Barrow to Lancaster service will not run. Passengers are advised to travel on the next available service.

The 21:59 Manchester Airport to Barrow service will terminate at Lancaster. A bus will be provided from Lancaster to Barrow. A minibus will be provided from Lancaster to Grange-over-Sands, calling at Silverdale and Arnside.

The 22:09 Lancaster to Barrow train service will not run and will be replaced by a bus. A minibus will be provided from Lancaster to Grange-over-Sands, calling at Silverdale and Arnside.

From tomorrow, Tuesday June 16, until Friday, the 04:58 Barrow to Manchester Airport service will start from Lancaster.

A bus will be provided from Barrow to Lancaster, departing Barrow-in-Furness earlier at 03:45 to connect with the train at Lancaster.

A minibus will be provided from Grange-over-Sands to Lancaster (departing Grange-over-Sands at 04:20), calling at Arnside.
