Gary Jones, manager at Eden Manor care home in Carlisle

Lovett Care has appointed Gary Jones to the position of general manager at its popular Eden Manor care home on Langrigg Road in Carlisle.

Living locally in Carlisle and an active member of his local community, Gary is delighted to take responsibility for the leadership and management of the popular 80-bed care home and is committed to ensuring the highest standards of care, safety and wellbeing for residents.

On a day-to-day basis, Gary will work with his team to oversee the overall performance of the home, monitoring the quality of individual care delivered to each resident, ensuring quality and compliance standards are achieved as well as supporting the care team.

He is committed to developing a positive and compassionate culture, working with residents, families, colleagues and external partners to ensure the home provides person‑centred care in a warm and welcoming environment.

Gary brings a wealth of experience to his new role having worked in similar positions in care homes for more than 20 years, previously at The Knells in Houghton and prior to that at Nether Place nursing home in Keswick.

He was attracted to Lovett Care’s enviable reputation for great care homes, and the company’s commitment to creating compassionate environments where residents feel genuinely cared for, supported and at home, which match his own values.

Commenting on his appointment, Gary said: “As a local, I’m so pleased to be taking up the position of manager here at Eden Manor in the wonderful community of Carlisle which I love.

“I am keen to maintain and further build on the high standards set by the team, and ensure everything we do is a team effort built on commitment to delivering the very best care, with consistency and kindness.

“I enjoy working within care homes where no two days are ever the same. I love getting to meet people and getting to know all of our incredible residents.

“Working in care is rewarding on a personal and professional level for me and I’m looking forward to continuing my career at Eden Manor.”

Deputy managing director at Lovett Care, Dawn Collett, said: “Gary is going to thrive in the position of manager at Eden Manor.

“He takes great pride in his work, in developing warm and wonderful homes where everyone feels valued and known on a personal level and I can see that he is already becoming part of the family at Eden Manor, not only with residents but with their friends and relatives too.”

Originally from Glasgow, Gary is now a proud Carlislian having lived in the town for the last 20 years. He is married with two grown-up children and when not working enjoys cooking, baking sourdough bread and brewing mead.

Eden Manor is part of the Lovett Care Group. With a vision to create caring communities in which our elders thrive, Lovett is one of the UK’s leading care home groups with 28 homes across Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Merseyside.

Filled with joy, togetherness and love, Lovett Care homes are places where life is truly lived. For more information, visit Lovett Care’s website here.
