Carlisle United have signed 25-year-old goalkeeper Archie Mair on a permanent contract.
The Scot has agreed a one-year deal with the club holding an option to extend by a further year.
Mair spent the second half of last season on loan at Brunton Park, having joined the club in January.
Mair began his career at Aberdeen before joining Norwich City as a youngster, where he continued his development and gained valuable experience.
Loan spells followed during his time with the Canaries, including at King’s Lynn Town, Notts County and Gateshead, before he joined Morecambe.
He moved to Carlisle on loan last season and featured against Brackley Town on the final day of the regular season, as well as in a number of behind-closed-doors fixtures, giving the club the chance to take a closer look before making the move permanent.
Sporting director Marc Tierney said: “His loan spell last season gave us the chance to get to know him properly, and he made a really positive impression around the group.
“He fits the profile of player we want to bring to Carlisle United. He is young, has strong experience already, excellent physical attributes and a professional attitude.
“We feel he adds real competition and quality to the goalkeeping department, and we believe he can be an important part of the squad next season.”
