[A]t Halloween black cats certainly come to the forefront of our imagination and one lucky black cat, Morty, was the first cat to leave Oak Tree Animals’ Charity this Halloween, bound for his new home.
Black cats are difficult to rehome due to their colour which is considered unlucky by some and, in the latest research, black animals are often overlooked due to their inability to take a good selfie with their owner.
Rachel Smith, Morty’s caseworker at Oak Tree said: “We are delighted that Morty found his forever home at Halloween. Being a black cat he has often been overlooked but for his new family, his fabulous personality shone through. We hope that he brings his new household lots of luck as he settles in.”
