L-R: Andrew Eze (head of office, Brewin Dolphin Penrith); Tom Melling (investment manager); Samantha Balmer (assistant administrator); Melanie Westgarth (senior administrator & marketing executive); and John Divers (financial planner)

A team from wealth manager Brewin Dolphin’s Penrith office recently volunteered at a local food bank to help highlight the issues of food waste and hunger.

The team comprising Melanie Westgarth, John Divers, Samantha Balmer, Tom Melling and head of office Andrew Eze volunteered at the North Lakes foodbank in Cockermouth, where they spent the day learning about the work the organisation does as well as helping to pack food parcels to be distributed to local charities.

The Penrith office also donated £200 to North Lakes foodbank to help with its continued efforts to help the needy in the area.

Melanie Westgarth from Brewin Dolphin’s Penrith office said: “We all came away realising how lucky we are. The day was very thought provoking and very enjoyable and other colleagues are now looking to do their volunteer day at a local foodbank near their home.”
