The A66 is currently closed at Cockermouth between the Low Road roundabout and the Oakhurst roundabout.
It is likely to remain closed for some time following a serious road traffic collision at the A66/A595 roundabout, west of Cockermouth.
Emergency services were called at 5.50am this morning following a collision between a tractor and a Ford car.
Diversions are in place but people are urged to avoid the area if at all possible.
