Whitehaven will be without three key forwards when they host Widnes Vikings in their Championship clash tomorrow.
Skipper Marc Shackley and fellow prop Tom Walker miss out through injury while Connor Holliday is unavailable.
But coach Gary Charlton is still able to name a strong squad of 21 for a crunch test against the Vikings as Chris Taylor, Andrew Dawson and Barrow-bound Ellis Gillam all return after missingout last week.
Charlton is looking for a response from his players after a tame surrender at York City Knights last week came on the back of a run of results which had catapulted Haven up the table into the top half.
A strong finish to the season, including a win over Widnes, might propel the Cumbrians into the play-off berths.
Charlton said: “It wasn’t good enough at York when the best team won. But we didn’t have enough of the ball and when we did our completion rate was poor. A lot of it is down to concentration and we certainly expect a reaction against Widnes.
“I feel sure we will get that and the players will be ready to put in a performance more like the ones which have got us up the table.”
The Haven 21 – reduced to 17 on the day – is: McNally, Walmsley, Taylor, Parker, Bulman, Dixon, Williams, Phillips, Cooper, Newton, Gillam, Bradley, Mossop, King, Dawson, Thomas, Jouffret, Thornley, Graham.
