Holders Carlisle United face a city derby in the second round of the Cumberland Cup, which was drawn this afternoon.
They have been drawn at home to Northbank, a Carlisle-based side who play in the Cumberland County League.
Northbank got through the first round with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Unisun Athletic while United were 7-0 winners against Langwathby United.
The United team for the second round is likely to consist mainly of their Youth squad along with fringe first teamers in need of game time.
There’s another all-west clash for Workington Reds, still wondering how they managed to fashion a 5-4 win over Whitehaven Amateurs last Wednesday with three goals in the last four minutes of extra time.
A Ruben Jerome hat-trick in those closing minutes clinched the most dramatic of Cup victories.
In the second round Reds will play at Maryport Athletic, members of the County League’s second tier (First Division) and, like Carlisle are likely to use their Development squad, plus first teamers deemed short of matches.
If Reds win over Whitehaven was highest in drama, not far behind and even more prolific, was Cleator’s Moor’s extra time win over Penrith. It was 4-4 after 90 minutes; 5-4 to Penrith at the half-way stage of extra- time and then two goals gave Celtic a 6-5 victory.
Celtic have been drawn at home again and this time will host Keswick of the Westmorland League.
In the other ties, lining up will be: Gosforth v Pirelli ; Carlisle City v Windscale; Wetheriggs United v Cockermouth and Kirkoswald v Eden United.
The ties must be played on or before November 13.
