Widnes Vikings have now officially announced the signing of promising young winger Brad Holroyd.
The 21-year-old has signed a one-year contract for the 2022 season following his try-scoring exploits with Workington Town which helped them gain promotion from Betfred League 1.
He scored 18 tries for the Derwent Parkside during the season and was nominated for the League’s Young Player of the Year award for 2021.
Holroyd started his career with the amateur club Crosfields and then the St Helens academy as a teenager, representing England at under-19 level.
A player who can operate in a number of back positions he spent time with Leigh Centurions and Rochdale Hornets before moving to Workington last year.
He scored a notable hat-trick against London Skolars during the League One campaign and finished the season as the third-highest try scorer in the Division.
On signing for Widnes ahead of the 2022 season, he said: “I’m made up to have signed for such a big club, I can’t wait to meet up with the lads and get started.”
