Connor Shields will miss Penrith’s trip to Northallerton tomorrow in the first division of the Northern League.
Shields pays the price for being sent off in last Tuesday’s frantic County Cup tie at Cleator Moor Celtic.
After scoring twice in the 6-5 defeat he was sent-off in the 74th minute and is suspended for Penrith’s second trip of the season to Northallerton.
The Cumbrians won there 2-1 on September 25 in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase to earn a trip to Prestwich Heys on Saturday in the first round proper.
Chairman Billy Williams was at Billingham on Saturday to see new manager Chris Humphrey take charge for the first time.
“We got a precious point from a 0-0 draw and it’s another vital game tomorrow at Northallerton.
“Billingham are two places above us, two points better off but we have two games in hand.
“Northallerton are between us in the table, a point better off and we have a game in hand.
“So it’s obvious how important tomorrow’s game is to both clubs.
“As usual, though, it’s virtually impossible to retain an unchanged side. Apart from the suspension we have players unavailable to travel so I understand Chris is going to bring-in promising players from our Academy to give them some first team experience.
“He will be trying to bring-in new blood but is taking time to assess what’s required.”
Like Penrith their hosts will be going into the game on the back of a draw – 1-1 at home to Seaham Red Star on Saturday.
