Good news for Workington Reds fans, concerned by five departures so far, is confirmation that club captain Conor Tinnion is staying for another season.
The 31-year-old midfielder and dead-ball specialist first joined Reds in March 2010 after being released by Carlisle United.
He told the club website: “I’m really happy to have re-signed for next year. It was obviously a very disappointing end to the season but I am really excited to have the manager back and looking forward to getting started next season.
“We will be looking to pick up where we left off with Danny and and go one more step closer to our aim.”
Grainger, back in charge after a season away, said: “I’m over the moon to have Conor here for another season. He was chosen as captain for a reason in my first spell and I’m sure he will continue to show the drive, determination and set the standards that we expect to have a successful season.”
